Any time of the year is a good time to go and fall in love with the Paris charm.
I love The Centre Pompidou, it’s a great place to visit on a trip to Paris. The artwork is always fun and interactive, with a mixture of videos, sculptures and paintings. Even for someone not mad about art galleries, its definitely one of my favourite places in Paris. Not to mention the viewing platform at the top of the gallery, overlooking the whole of Paris.
The Eiffel tower at night is really something! It was never top on my list of things to see, but its definitely worth the visit. Every hour, on the hour, after sunset, it sparkles and glows for 5 minutes, lighting up the skyline. Seeing this up close is awesome so head down to the Tour Eiffel at night!
The quirky, historic district of Le Marais is just next to the Pompidou and the streets are lined with vintage clothes shops. Endless amounts of vintage clothes – most of these you can shop by weight!
Searching for the right hostel is always hard but Les Piaules Hostel in Belleville, north eastern Paris, did not disappoint . I’d definitely recommend this place, I’ts modern and quirky with a funky bar / chill area, and the option for a continental breakfast. The attention to detail really makes this hosetel stand out, with the welcome drinks, quirky furniture and rooftop garden overlooking the whole city. They even have a photobooth! The rooms are very clean and comfy so if you’re after good value for money it’s a great option. Les Piaules is a short walk to Belleville Metro station. The Metro is super easy to navigate and great for getting around cheaply. Walking around Paris is a great way to see more, however the city is fairly large so The Metro makes easy to visit all the major attractions in just a few days.
Arc de Triomphe
The panoramic view from the top of the Arc de Triumph is amazing so be prepared to walk all the way up and down its spiral staircase – definitely worth it:) The top of the monument has interactive exhibitions, describing its history. It was great to head up just before sunset to see the view in the light and then catch the first of the evenings glittering Eiffel Tower shows.
Parisian architecture is so beautiful. The countless cobbled back streets and decorative balconies give the city it’s romantic charm. Paris is always a great place to spend a few days (or more) and explore!
